Data Backups
Data Backups allows you to automatically back up Glide Tables and Big Tables at configurable intervals and restore them to previous points in time, adding extra security and reliability to your apps.
Enterprise Feature
This feature is available as an add-on to Enterprise plans. Contact sales to get started.
Configuring Backups
Data Backups is configured by Glide when you purchase the add-on. Your backup frequency and retention period are set based on your purchased plan. Once configured, your selected tables will be backed up automatically at the configured intervals.
Viewing Backup History
In the Team Dashboard, click on Data Backups in the lower left-hand menu. Select the table you want to view and review the version history showing all available backup points for that table.
Restoring a Backup
Data Backups offers two restoration options: restore as a new table or overwrite the existing table.
Restore as a New Table
Restoring a backup as a new table creates a separate copy of the data at the selected point in time. This is useful for testing or comparing data without affecting your table in production.
Overwrite Existing Table
Overwriting a table is a permanent action and cannot be undone. Consider restoring it as a new table first to verify the data.
Restoring a backup by overwriting the existing table reverts your production table to the selected point in time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I back up Glide Tables?
Yes! Existing Glide Tables will need to be upgraded by Glide Support. Contact your sales representative to get started.
Who can access Data Backups on my team?
Only team admins can access Data Backups.
What happens when I restore a backup by overwriting?
When you overwrite an existing table, your production table is reverted to the selected backup point. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Any data added or changed since that backup point will be lost.
