Overview

Stop hunting. Start knowing.

Every growing team hits the same wall: announcements buried in Slack threads, policy PDFs no one can find, tool links scattered across bookmarks, and answers that require pinging three people. Employee Hub gives every employee — from day-one new hires to seasoned managers — one reliable place for everything they need at work.

The problem it replaces

  • Scattered announcements living in email, chat, and slide decks, with no priority signal and no expiry date
  • Stale policy PDFs on shared drives with no owner, no review date, and no way to know if they are current
  • Hard-to-find tool links that every new hire has to ask about separately
  • Buried answers that require interrupting a colleague or filing an IT ticket for something already written down somewhere
  • No ownership or review dates so no one knows whether the benefits guide is from last year or this quarter

What is included

Home dashboard — a screenshot-ready entry point showing priority announcements, a four-stat KPI bar (priority alerts, expiring resources, upcoming events, pulse score), quick links, the next four events, and a recognition wall. The Ask Hub AI panel sits inline on the home page for instant answers.

Announcements — a searchable, filterable list of company-wide communications with audience targeting, priority levels (Urgent / High / Normal), department ownership, publish and expiry dates, and a full detail page per announcement. Priority badges and expiry signals keep the most critical news visible.

Resources & Policies — a knowledge base for every policy, guide, benefit document, FAQ, and form. Each resource carries a category, department, owner name, audience, and review date. A freshness signal (Current / Due Soon / Overdue) surfaces documents that need attention before employees are handed outdated information.

Tools launchpad — a grouped directory of internal tools and applications with descriptions, access notes, and a dual CTA: "Open Tool" for immediate access or "Request Access" for restricted tools that require approval.

Events — a monthly calendar view of company events, workshops, all-hands meetings, and team gatherings. Each event card shows date, time, location or virtual join link, organizer, and RSVP count.

Feedback & Pulse — three tabs in one: a pulse survey summary with per-question score bars, an open suggestions wall with admin follow-up status, and a submit form with optional anonymous submission.

Recognition — a public shoutout wall organized by category (Above & Beyond, Innovation, Collaboration, Team Excellence, Customer First). Any employee can nominate a teammate directly from the page.

Admin — create and publish new announcements, resources, events, and tool links from a single tabbed form page. No separate admin system required.

AI workflow: Ask Hub AI

Ask Hub AI appears in three places: the Home page, every Resource detail page, and every Announcement detail page.

When a user types a question (or taps one of the pre-written quick questions), the app sends the question together with relevant hub content — nearby resources, recent announcements, and the current page's full text — to an AI model. The model returns a concise, structured answer that includes cited source titles (so employees know exactly which policy or announcement to refer to) and a "What to do next" section with one to three practical next steps.

Users can copy the answer to the clipboard or regenerate it with one tap. If the organization's AI credits are unavailable, the app shows a clear message explaining how to buy extra credits or upgrade the plan in the Glide dashboard — no silent failures, no frozen UI.

Who it is for

Employee Hub is the right starting point for HR teams and People Ops who own internal communications and policy maintenance, founders and office managers at companies that have outgrown a shared Google Drive, internal comms owners who want a single source of truth for announcements and updates, and department leads who need a reliable way to publish team-specific resources and events to their audience.

It works equally well for fully remote teams, hybrid offices, and frontline-heavy organizations. The audience-targeting field on announcements and resources means you can scope content to specific groups without building a separate portal for each one.

Getting started

  1. Replace the seed content. The template ships with realistic sample announcements, resources, tools, events, and recognition items. Open the Admin page and add your own, or clear the seed rows from the database and import from your spreadsheet.
  2. Assign owners and review dates. Every resource has an owner name and review date field. Populate these so the freshness signals are meaningful from day one.
  3. Set audiences. Announcements and resources both carry an audience field. Use it to scope content to All Employees, New Hires, Managers, or any department.
  4. Update quick links. The eight quick links on the Home dashboard point to placeholder internal URLs. Replace them with your real People Portal, Help Desk, wiki, and booking tool links via the database.
  5. Invite your team. The app is ready to share. Access is controlled at the Glide project level — no additional configuration required.
