Overview
Channel Allocation Studio
Growing retail brands rarely have an inventory shortage everywhere at once. They have inventory in the wrong channel, committed to the wrong launch, or sitting in one location while another channel approaches a stockout.
Channel Allocation Studio gives operations and digital teams one shared workspace for channel coverage, commitments, safety stock, transfer approvals, and scenario planning.
What is included
- A screenshot-ready command center with sellable inventory, at-risk allocations, recommended moves, channel coverage, and recent activity
- A searchable SKU, channel, and location directory with mobile cards and dense desktop scanning
- A workflow board organized by committed risk, stockout risk, excess, and balanced inventory
- A transfer approval queue with rationale, ownership, and decision history
- Rich SKU detail with channel coverage, inbound inventory, commitments, and transfer history
- A what-if planner that shows coverage and safety-stock impact before a move is requested
Explain allocation recommendation with AI
On any SKU detail page, select Explain allocation recommendation. The action sends that SKU's stored availability, commitments, weekly demand, safety stock, inbound units, coverage, and recommended move to AI. It returns a plain-language assessment with the reason to act, the operational tradeoff, and the next approval step, helping technical and operations stakeholders reach the same decision faster.
If the organization runs out of AI credits, the app explains that extra credits can be purchased or the plan can be upgraded in the Glide dashboard. The core inventory, transfer, and scenario workflows continue to work without AI.
