Overview

Who it's for

Owners and dispatchers of small field service teams (roughly 3 to 30 technicians) in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, facilities maintenance and general repair, who are running jobs from a whiteboard, group texts or a spreadsheet.

Field Service Manager (office app)

  • Dashboard — open, unassigned, in-progress and urgent counts, plus Overdue and Scheduled today cards that open a filtered job list. Worker load shows who has capacity.
  • Jobs — every job with filters for status, priority and date (overdue, today). Overdue jobs carry a red badge. New Job picks a customer and fills in the site address and contact for you.
  • Schedule — day and week board with one row per technician and an Unassigned list beside it. Drag a job onto a person and a day, or tap it to set the technician and time.
  • Customers — each customer's address, main contact, site notes, open jobs and job history, with a New Job button that starts from that customer.
  • Job detail — assign or reassign, move the status, edit details, read the note thread, and see the technician's photos and the customer's signed completion report.
  • Quotes — price a job for a customer and site with labor, parts and sales tax. Print it or save it as a PDF, email it, then mark it accepted or declined. An accepted quote becomes a job in one click.
  • Invoices — when a job is completed, create the invoice from the job: the lines come from its quote (or a labor line at your standard rate). Mark it sent and it shows as overdue once the due date passes; mark it paid with a note such as a check number. The Billing page totals what is awaiting reply, outstanding, overdue and paid.
  • Workers — add, edit and deactivate technicians. Each technician's email is how the field app recognises them.

Field Worker (technician app, phone-first)

  • My Jobs — technicians sign in with their own account and see only their jobs, grouped into Overdue, Today and Upcoming.
  • On the job — tap the address for directions, tap the phone number to call, start, pause and resume the job, and add notes the office sees straight away.
  • Before and after photos — take or upload photos from the phone; they appear on the job in both apps.
  • Close out on site — Mark Complete asks for a short work summary, a checklist and the customer's signature, then sends the report to the office.

Good to know

  • Both apps require sign-in with your Glide organization. Notes, completion reports, quotes and invoices are stamped with the signed-in person's name, not a name typed into a box. Totals and tax are calculated by the app from the saved lines.
  • Comes with sample data for a small maintenance company: 7 technicians, 12 customers, about 25 jobs with notes, photos and signed reports, and quotes and invoices in every status, so every screen has something to show. Replace it with your own team, customers and business details when you are ready.
  • Quotes and invoices go to customers as a printed or PDF copy or an email you send; customers don't log in. Not included: taking card payments, accounting sync, and automatic text or email notifications. Ask the builder to add them.

About your data

This template stores customer invoices and payment status. Glide's user data rules allow this kind of information only in private apps on a paid plan.
