Overview

Who this is for

Owners and managers of barbershops that take both walk-ins and appointments, from a few chairs to a full shop. Sign-in is required: only members of your Glide organization with access to the project can open the app.

What you get

Walk-in queue

Check in a walk-in by searching for a returning client or typing a new name, then pick the service and, if they ask for one, a barber. The Walk-ins page lists everyone waiting in order with their check-in time, how long they've waited, and an estimate of when a barber is free, based on each barber's tickets for the rest of the day. Select Start to put someone in a chair. This creates a walk-in ticket for that barber at the current time, and the app checks that the barber is free for the whole service. Select Left for anyone who walks out before service. The page also shows who is in the chair, everyone served earlier today, and the average wait.

Dashboard

The dashboard opens on today's date with the walk-in queue and today's book side by side. Four cards show month-to-date revenue, services done, walk-ins with their share of services and average wait, and tips, compared with the same days of last month. Below them you see each barber's month-to-date service revenue against their monthly target, the top services this month, the share of this month's clients who already have their next visit booked, and the share of services that included a retail sale.

Appointments and the day view

The List tab shows tickets by date with filters for booked or walk-in, status, and date, plus search by client, barber, or service. The Day tab shows one column per barber's chair on a time grid, with walk-in tickets marked. To book, search for the client and pick the barber and service. The price and end time fill in from the service, and the app refuses a booking that overlaps the barber's other tickets.

Check out, reschedule, cancel, or no-show

From a ticket, Check out records the tip and any retail products. Products come out of stock. Reschedule moves a booking to a new date, time, or barber with the same double-booking check. Cancel asks for a reason, and No-show takes an optional note for booked appointments.

Clients

Add a client from the Clients page and edit contact details, usual barber, cut notes, skin and allergy notes, and other notes on any card. Each card shows visit history (booked and walk-in), lifetime spend, points, and the next booked visit. Search by name, email, or phone, and filter by who has a next visit booked.

Barbers and commissions

The barbers page shows each barber's chair, role, commission rate, and monthly target. A barber's page shows month-to-date service revenue, commission earned, tips, progress toward the target, walk-ins served, and recent tickets.

Retail inventory

Styling, beard care, hair care, shave, and tool products show stock on hand, the reorder point, and a stock bar. A banner lists items at or below their reorder point, and you can correct a stock count on the card.

Reports and daily closeout

Reports cover month to date: total, service, and retail revenue, tips, services done, walk-ins served, average walk-in wait, walk-outs, daily revenue by day, and the service mix. The closeout log lists each day as open or reconciled. Close out a day adds up that day's completed tickets, including walk-ins and no-shows, and marks it reconciled. It waits until every ticket that day is checked out, canceled, or marked as a no-show.

AI action: Draft rebooking text

On a client's card, select Draft rebooking text. The AI reads the client's last five completed visits, their cut notes, their usual barber, and whether a next visit is already booked. It writes a short text from the barber and your shop that suggests when to come back, for example every two to three weeks for a fade. Edit the text in place, copy it, or select Regenerate for a new draft. If your organization is out of AI credits, the app says so and points you to the Glide dashboard to add credits.

Sample data

The template comes with a fictional shop, Brickline Barbershop in Chicago, with seven barbers, 20 services, 12 retail products from made-up brands, about 1,100 clients, and about 4,300 tickets: about 11 weeks of walk-ins and bookings that end on the day you first open the app, plus two weeks booked ahead, with tips, no-shows, retail sales, walk-in wait times, and daily closeouts that add up. The shop name lives in one setting (barber_settings.shop_name), so changing it updates the dashboard and the AI texts. Replace the sample data with your own when you're ready.

About your data

This template stores client skin and allergy notes, client payment history, and barber commissions. Glide's user data rules allow this kind of information only in private apps on a paid plan.
