Overview
Make it fit what you inspect
Rename "Things to inspect" to Vehicles, Rooms, Machines, or anything else, and the menu and screens use your words. Build checklists in the app, or paste the list you already use and turn it into a checklist. Add your own fields, such as a plate number or a warranty date. Ask the Glide agent in chat to add fields, change wording, or change what each role can do.
What's included
- Your own checklists: sections, Pass / Fail / N/A items, yes or no questions, numbers with limits, text, choices from a list, dates, and photos. Mark any item as required, photo required, or photo required when it fails.
- Inspections on your phone: pick what you're inspecting and go item by item with large buttons. Take photos with the camera, add notes, and see the failed count as you go. Answers save as you tap, so you can stop and finish later.
- Issues that get fixed: when an inspection is finished, each failed item becomes an issue with its photo and a due date. It goes to the person the inspection was scheduled for, or a manager or admin assigns it, and whoever fixes it adds a note and a fix photo.
- Schedules: inspect something daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or once on a set date. Today shows what's due and what's overdue, and the next due date moves forward when the inspection is done.
- Reports: every finished inspection has a report with the answers, photos, failed items, issues, and sign-off, including a drawn signature. Print it or save it as a PDF from your browser.
- Dashboard: inspections this week, pass rate, open issues, overdue inspections, and the items that fail most often. Export inspections, answers, and issues as CSV.
- Roles: admins build checklists and manage the team, inspectors do inspections and see their own work, and managers see every report and follow up issues.
- Examples to start from: vehicle pre-trip, fire extinguisher monthly, rental move-in and move-out, machine daily safety, and site safety walk checklists.
Getting started
- Open the app and tap Make me the admin. The first person who does this becomes the admin.
- In Make it yours, name what you inspect, pick an example checklist or paste your own list, and add your first item to inspect.
- Add your team on Team and give each person a role. You can hand admin to someone else later.
- Start an inspection from Today, or schedule regular inspections on Schedules.
The template comes with sample data so every screen has something to show: 13 things to inspect, 30 inspections (2 still in progress), 17 issues, and 13 schedules. The first time you open the app, the sample dates move forward to that day, so Today shows inspections due and overdue. Remove it in Settings when you're ready. The example checklists stay so you can keep, edit, or delete them.
Good to know
- Only signed-in members of your Glide organization can open the app. Photos and signatures you add are stored with the app and shown only to signed-in members.
- Editing a checklist never changes finished inspections. Each inspection keeps the questions it was done with.
- The app needs an internet connection. Answers and photos save as you go.
- Reports are printed or saved as a PDF with your browser's print option.
