Gliding into the New Year

We held our last community event of the year this week with our Co-Founder and CEO David Siegel where he reflected on Glide’s 2022 and what’s in store for the new year.

And that’s a wrap! We held our last community event of the year this week with our Co-Founder and CEO David Siegel where he reflected on Glide’s 2022 and what’s in store for the new year. In case you missed it, here’s what he covered:

Since our original YC demo day pitch in 2019, we’ve come a long way.

2022 was a big year for Glide. It was the year we raised our Series A and grew the team, adding engineers, designers, and marketers to help build Glide and share our story with the rest of the world.

It was also the year we introduced Glide Pages 1.0 and added improvements like a data grid, calendar view, kanban boards, map components, charts, and an animation framework that makes the apps you can build on Glide even smoother.

We introduced several new data sources this year, including Excel, Airtable, BigQuery, CSV file imports, and more.

More flexible, team-based pricing and improved sharing and privacy also made a debut—a huge unlock for our business customers.

But our work to deliver on our mission to put the power, beauty, and magic of software into the hands of 1 billion new users is just getting started. Here’s what we have planned for you all in the year ahead:

Being a startup requires focus. 2023 will be the year of power for Glide.

We’re going to supercharge Glide in 2023, starting with completing our transition from Apps to Pages. Pages will be responsive across web and desktop and have a beautiful mobile view.

We're also going to introduce 10-million row scale “Big Glide Tables” (working title) so you don’t have to worry about managing and exporting your rows from a spreadsheet.

We’ll add integrations to make Glide your new command center for communicating and connecting with the rest of the world.

All of this will be made smoother with new automations.

We started Glide out of a love for software. Today, we’re proud to say Glide helps bring that love to hundreds of thousands of users. We couldn’t do it without you. Please give us feedback on how to make Glide more beautiful and more powerful.

We can’t wait to keep building with you in 2023. Thank you for being with us on this journey!
