Trigger Zap

Send values from your Glide app to Zapier.

Trigger Zap Action Deprecated

The Trigger Zap action is being deprecated in December 2023. Existing actions will continue to work, but new ones cannot be created. Users who want to integrate with Zapier should use the Trigger Webhook action instead.

Zapier allows you to connect different apps and automate the work you do. The Trigger Zap action lets you send values from your app to any application you can find in the Zapier Directory.

The Trigger Zap action can be used as an action in the components of your app (like ButtonsCollections, and much more), or it can be triggered along with other actions as part of a Custom Action.

For example, the app below shows a Zap that automatically sends an email to the interview candidate inviting them for a second interview—all with a single tap of a Button!

Setting up the Trigger Zap Action

Before you set up the action in Glide, you need to create the Zap in Zapier. For detailed instructions on how to integrate and create Zaps with Zapier, read our full guide here before proceeding.

Once you’ve connected your Glide account with Zapier and created your Zap, you can continue either in the Layout Editor or in the Action Editor.

In the Layout Editor

  1. Click on the plus (+) sign in the Components panel and select the Component you want to trigger the action.

  2. In the General tab on the right side of the Layout Editor, navigate to the Actions section and select Trigger Zap.

  3. Select the icon and descriptive text to use in your app.

  4. Select the Zap to use for the action.

  5. Add values to the action. Each field can be filled in with a custom static value, or with dynamic values from a column in your data.

  6. Write an optional custom message to appear on screen when the action is triggered.

  7. You can optionally add Conditions for certain criteria to be met before a user can trigger this action.

In the Action Editor

  1. Select the + New Action button. If you have existing actions, click on the plus (+) sign in the left panel.

  2. Select the data source for your action.

  3. Configure your first action by clicking the first action in the sequence. You can also add Conditions to your actions, if needed.

  4. To add new actions to the flow, hover just underneath an action and click the plus button. In this way you can add the Trigger Zap action as just one step in a larger workflow.

Check the Introduction to Actions page for a full list of components that can be used to trigger actions.
