# Google Sheets

> Use Google Sheets as the data source for your Glide app.

> **25,000 Row Limit on Spreadsheet Data Sources**
>
> Rows from spreadsheet data sources have a **total cap of 25,000 rows across all tables**. If you need more than 25,000 rows of data in a team, consider a high-scale data source like [Big Tables.](/docs/essentials/data-sources/big-tables)

[Google Sheets](https://sheets.google.com/) is a cloud-based spreadsheet program that's similar to Excel. You can choose a spreadsheet from your Google account to serve as the [Data Source](/docs/essentials/data-sources) for your Glide app. Users on any plan can export a Google Sheet and import the resulting .csv or .xlsx file into Glide. Google Sheets syncing is available starting with the Maker plan. [Browse our plans to find the right fit for you.](https://www.glideapps.com/pricing)

## How to connect Google Sheets with Glide

> **Note**
>
> If you created your Glide account using your work email, you must create an associated Google account to integrate Google Sheets with Glide. To learn how to create a Google account using an email type that isn't Gmail, see [Create a Google Account](https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/27441?hl=en#existingemail).

#### Google Sheets Sync Arcade

From the dashboard, select **New app**.

Select the template type you want to get started with.

Select **Google Sheets** as the data source, then **Continue**.

When prompted, select the file from Google Drive to use as your app's data source, then **Select**.

Glide creates a starter app using your Google spreadsheet as the data source.

## More about Google Sheets

We've gathered some resources to help you understand Google Sheets better.

## Frequently Asked Questions

#### Why are rows appearing at the bottom of my sheet?

If new rows are appearing very far down in your sheets, or in a strange place you don't expect, it could be that you have formulas or other [macros](https://developers.google.com/codelabs/apps-script-fundamentals-1#0) in your spreadsheet that Glide does not want to write over. Even if the row looks empty, these formulas or macros could be present.

To solve for this, we recommend deleting the empty rows from your spreadsheet. This will allow Glide to generate a new row in the appropriate place.

#### Can I use frozen rows in my sheet?

Glide supports **frozen rows**. If you have less than 20 frozen rows, Glide will take those frozen rows for the column names. When there's more than one cell in the frozen rows for a column, the lowest one will be the column name.

#### Can I have more than one spreadsheet as a source?

Unfortunately not. But you can use [**IMPORTRANGE**](/docs/essentials/data-sources/google-sheets/importrange) to pull in data from other sheets into your original sheet.

#### Can I use the IMAGE formula?

Google Sheets has an `IMAGE` formula to display images in cells. Glide doesn't support this formula—`IMAGE(URL)` will not work, but `URL` will.

#### I'm having problems with date & time formatting.

Depending on your location and spreadsheet's settings, Google Sheets will expect a certain format for your dates. You can change the settings for your Locale and affect the way Google Sheets formats your dates. Go to **File/Spreadsheet Settings**. It's possible to change your Locale and not affect your timezone. For example, you could make the timezone London GMT but the Locale the United States.
