# Share Link

> Share a link through the user's device.

The **Share Link** action triggers the device's share panel, enabling them to share your content via other apps. This will only work on mobile devices.

![The Share Link action in an app.](/docs/_fern-img/080a4acfade92677ffc57f13b912388b209d335a760d9ae644ef79d8a6b0e2ce.webp)

The **Share Link** action can be used as an action in the components of your app (like [Buttons](/docs/essentials/components/button), [Collections](/docs/essentials/components/collections), and much more), or it can be triggered along with other actions as part of a [Workflow.](/docs/getting-started/introduction-to-workflows)

## **Setting up the Share Link Action**

#### Layout Editor

#### Share Link Layout View Arcade

Click on the plus (+) sign in the **Components** panel and select the **Component** you want to trigger the action.

In the **General** tab on the right side of the Layout Editor, navigate to the **Actions** section and select **Share link**.

Select the icon and descriptive text to use in your app.

In the **Data** field, you can allow users to share any of the following data:

* Static custom text or custom link
* Unique values like [**Current Date/Time**](/docs/reference/values/current-date-time), a [**Unique Identifier**](/docs/reference/values/unique-identifier), or the [**Link to the current screen**](/docs/reference/user-experience/deep-links).
* Data from a specified column in your sheet.

You can optionally add **Conditions** for certain criteria to be met before a user can trigger this action.

#### Workflow Editor

#### Share Link Action Editor Arcade

Select the **+ New Workflow** button. If you have existing actions, click on the plus (+) sign in the left panel.

Select the **data source** for your action.

Configure your first action by clicking the first step in the workflow. You can also add conditions to your actions, if needed.

To add new actions to the flow, hover just underneath an action and click the plus button. In this way you can add the Share Link action as just one step in a larger workflow.

Check the [Introduction to Actions](/docs/automation/actions) page for a full list of components that can be used to trigger actions.
