Senior Product Designer

Job Description

Helping a billion people create software without code is only half the story–that software must also spark joy! Come help us solve the compound design challenge of creating delightful software that creates delightful software.

Responsibilities

  • Distill complexity into clean, simple, and opinionated user interfaces.
  • Provide sketches, wireframes, click-through prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Work with our VP of Design to establish a component-based design system for our builder environment and Glide apps themselves.
  • Clearly and systematically manage design scope in a timely fashion to ensure that designs are feasible.
  • Pitch design solutions to stakeholders, explaining and rationalizing design decisions to non-designers.
  • Work with developers to iterate on designs during implementation.

Experience

  • General familiarity with mobile app development (tools, concepts)
  • Strong knowledge of web and mobile design languages
  • Mastery of Figma, Sketch, or equivalent UX/UI design tool
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate, pitch, argue, and build consensus around design
  • Some programming experience (e.g. you have built apps or websites with code and have an opinion about the experience)
  • Portfolio demonstrating complex product design, including mobile

Glide is founded by four former Xamarin/Microsoft designers and engineers. We’ve worked at startups of all stages and at large corporations. We have decades of experience in product design, compilers, mobile platforms, and developer tools.

We're also veterans of open source–two of us were key members of the Ubuntu team at Canonical, and we've created many other successful open source projects.
